Faye has thirty years experience working as a Clinical Psychologist, with the last twelve years in private practice. Prior to becoming an Associate at the Bealey Centre in 2008, Faye worked in a number of district health board settings both in Christchurch and Gisborne, as well as three years at the STOP community treatment programme. Faye has a commitment to ongoing training in new therapeutic modalities and has regular supervision of her work.

Main areas of interest include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Self esteem
  • Early life trauma (including abuse and neglect)
  • Post traumatic stress
  • Work problems
  • Sexually inappropriate behaviour
  • Alcohol and drug issues

Faye works with late-adolescents and adults. She uses an eclectic mix of therapy modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness-based practice.

 

Qualifications and Memberships

  • Master of Arts (Psychology, University of Canterbury)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (University of Canterbury)
  • Registered Clinical Psychologist
  • Member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP)
  • ACC registered health provider (Psychological Services and Sensitive Claims)
  • Member of the Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Association of Australia
