Faye has over twenty years of working as a clinical psychologist and eight years in private practice.  Initially she worked as an Assistant Clinical Psychologist at Queen Mary Hospital before completing her postgraduate diploma in Clinical Psychology in 1992.  Since then she worked primarily for the District Health Boards, including Templeton Hospital, the Community Alcohol and Drug Service, East Mental Health Team and then for two years at Tairawiti Healthcare in Gisborne.  Faye also worked for three years at the STOP Community treatment programme before beginning private practice at the Bealey Centre, where she became an associate in 2008.

Main areas of interest include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Self esteem
  • Early life trauma (including abuse and neglect)
  • Post traumatic stress
  • Work problems
  • Sexually inappropriate behaviour
  • Alcohol and drug issues

Faye works with late-adolescents and adults. She uses an eclectic mix of therapy modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness-based practice.

  • Master of Arts (Psychology, University of Canterbury)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (University of Canterbury)
  • Registered Clinical Psychologist
  • Member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP)
  • ACC registered health provider (Psychological Services and Sensitive Claims)
  • Member of the Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Association of Australia
