Paul has been working as a clinical psychologist for the last sixteen years. With earlier involvement in Youthline and 20 years in mental health nursing, Paul was fortunate to be part of the setting up and development of the Cognitive Behavioural Programme at Kia Marama, Dept of Corrections and while there, did his clinical psychology training. On completing his Diploma of Clinical Psychology Paul worked for eight years at the CDHB Anxiety Disorders Unit before moving into private practice as a clinical psychologist. Paul predominantly works from a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) aspect.
Paul is a member of the EMDR Association of Australia and uses this treatment strategy when dealing with the effects of trauma in its various forms, as well as other psychological difficulties.
Paul has been a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (MNZCCP) since 2002.
I work predominantly with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to treat a number of emotional problems with adults, couples and young persons over ten years old.
