Simone was born and raised in Ōtautahi Christchurch where she completed eight years of psychology research and training at the University of Canterbury, earning a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology before qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist. She has experience working across community, correctional and specialist mental health services, including Hillmorton Hospital's specialist anxiety service and a special treatment unit at Ara Poutama (New Zealand Corrections).
Simone has worked with both adolescents and adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, providing both individual and group-based interventions. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence-based, drawing from therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), while tailoring treatment to each persons unique goals. Simone strongly values creating a therapeutic space that feels approachable, genuine, and non-judgemental, particularly for individuals seeking psychological treatment for the first time.
